I’ve read recently several articles about Cloud Computing that I would like to share in this blog:
Start your company with a credit card and a cloud: An article showing what a small company (JumpBox) is doing. Basically they sell “pre-built, pre-configured [Open Source] software applications packaged for deployment on virtual computing platforms.” that a small company can use. As the article author says “My little notebook computer has enough power to run a business – if I could just get the support and the apps to do it.”.
Cloud wars: Microsoft-Google scrum isn’t zero sum: Another way to see the current warfare between Microsoft and Google. The author also suggest that Google should buy Zoho so they can better compete against Microsoft in the big enterprise businesses arena.
Cloud computing: A new era of IT opportunity and challenges: Interesting stuff on who to incorporate cloud computing into strategic IT planning, how to compare economic models for IT/cloud services, etc.
So what is the cloud, exactly? Experts want to know: Experts panel from several companies (IBM, EMC, etc) answering questions like “So what is cloud computing? How would you define it?”
